The model
Merchants pay Retriever an affiliate commission when a purchase comes through an offer you clicked. We split that commission with you at the rate displayed on the offer at the moment you clicked. The displayed rate is the promise: we never advertise a rate we do not pay.
How cashback is tracked
An affiliate link exists only when you click an offer. Your purchase then shows as tracked (estimate), locks as pending until the merchant's validation window passes, becomes available once the network confirms and pays us, or is cancelled if the order is refunded or the network rejects it. Pending amounts are estimates, not debts.
Promo codes
Codes shown by Retriever come from affiliate network APIs and feeds. They are never auto-applied: you choose to copy and use them. Using a code that Retriever did not show you (from a coupon site, a creator, or elsewhere) can break the affiliate tracking or void the commission entirely; if the commission is reduced or cancelled, the cashback follows, down to zero. Commissions arising from transactions with no displayed cashback rate, or that cannot be matched to a device, are retained by Retriever.
Getting paid
We pay out after the networks pay us; merchant validation windows plus network payment terms mean up to about 90 days between purchase and available balance. The payout method and any minimum threshold are announced in your wallet before your first unlock date. Amounts do not expire while you wait.
Fair use
Cashback exists for real purchases by real people. Automated clicking, farmed devices, self-referral schemes or abuse of merchant terms lead to cancelled entries and deregistered devices. We flag, we do not litigate: entries cancelled for abuse are shown as such in the wallet.
